El Ajuste de Estatus (AOS) es el proceso que permite a las personas que ya están en los Estados Unidos solicitar el estatus de residente permanente legal (Tarjeta Verde) sin tener que salir del país.
Este proceso generalmente está disponible para aquellos que son elegibles para una Tarjeta Verde a través de la familia, empleo o estatus de refugiado/asilado.
Who Can Apply for Adjustment of Status?
To be eligible for AOS, you must meet the following requirements:
✅ Be physically present in the U.S.
✅ Have an approved immigrant petition (such as Form I-130 for family or Form I-140 for employment) or qualify for a visa that allows you to adjust status.
✅ Be eligible to enter the U.S. for lawful permanent residence (no criminal convictions or immigration violations that would prevent eligibility).
✅ Submit Form I-485 (Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status) to USCIS.
