he N-600 form, also known as the Application for Certificate of Citizenship, is used by individuals to obtain a Certificate of Citizenship for their child who automatically acquired U.S. citizenship at birth or after birth but before the age of 18.
This form is primarily used for children born outside the U.S. to U.S. citizen parents or those who became U.S. citizens through their parents.
Who Can Apply for the N-600?
The parent or legal guardian of a child can apply for the N-600 if the child:
✅ Was born outside the U.S. and has a U.S. citizen parent.
✅ Became a U.S. citizen automatically through the naturalization or citizenship of the parent(s).
✅ Is under 18 years old and resides in the U.S. in the legal and physical custody of the U.S. citizen parent.
