DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals)
DACA is a U.S. immigration policy that allows certain individuals who came to the United States as children, and meet specific criteria, to receive deferred action (a temporary reprieve) from deportation.
This means that individuals with DACA can live and work in the U.S. legally for a renewable period, typically two years.
Who is Eligible for DACA?
You may be eligible for DACA if you meet the following criteria:
✅ You were under the age of 16 when you arrived in the U.S.
✅ You have been continuously residing in the U.S. since June 15, 2007.
✅ You were under the age of 31 on June 15, 2012.
✅ You are currently in school, have graduated from high school, have obtained a GED, or have been honorably discharged from the U.S. military.
✅ You have not been convicted of a felony or serious misdemeanor.
✅ You are not a threat to U.S. national security or public safety.

If you already have DACA and want to renew it, you must apply before your current status expires. The renewal process is similar to the initial application, but it’s essential to ensure timely submission to avoid gaps in your work authorization.
